Flowerwild workshop Jan. 20-22, 2016

The lovely Kate Holt hosted another 2-day Flowerwild workshop at the Hudson Lofts in Los Angeles.  We had gorgeous product, fabulous food and met new floral friends with the same obsession.

An unusual ruffled tulip.

Luscious berries.

 Viburnum berries.

The Hudson Lofts in Los Angeles was our studio for two days.

Kate explaining how to create a bouquet in your hand using the "lacing" technique.

She also explained that designing in front of a mirror helps by showing the back of the bouquet.
We had a gorgeous model for our photo shoot and here are some of the bouquets.

Sorry that I don't know who made which bouquet.

Styling the gown.
Corbin Gurkin working her magic and taking the professional shots for us.

My bouquet.
Our delicious lunch was also a fest for the eyes, catered by Heirloomla.

A true feast for the eyes!
Kate demonstrated the construction of a large arrangement using a lacing technique and a chicken wire base.  No foam.
Again, examples of the large arrangements by the participants but unfortunately, I don't know who made which arrangement.

Corbin and Kate discussing the next move.

My large arrangement.
Kate demonstrating how to make a boutonniere.

Demonstrating how to make a wrist corsage.

This is my small arrangement.  Didn't get to photo the others.
Also made a second bouquet.  Thank you Kate for a fun time.
